Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitarist. She also plays music. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and also the first female recipient. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations, she was also the first Indian-born musician to perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka is the new star on the rise in Indian sitar. She is a student as well as daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was in London in 1982 and was a young girl who travelled from London and New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. Then she relocated into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha's career as a musician and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her young age. She frequently joins her father in performances this she has been doing for several years. She released her debut album in 1998. released Anourag as her first single album. A year later, she dropped the Grammy nominated Live in Carnegie Hall. Her stage career is very broad as she's performed in most of the biggest venues in the world. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't only limited to the music industry. Bapi: The Love of My Live is her 2002 novel, and is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. Also, in movies in 2003. She played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays a young Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and we can expect many more things to come from this talented lady. Anoushka Shakar, who was born in England was a major part of her adult life in London Delhi. When she moved to California she finished her high school. In Delhi on his birthday, which was celebrated at the age of 75 Anoushka first made an appearance as a sitar player in front of an audience at the age of four, following her nine year old father. Anoushka was able to gain a variety of valuable experiences by accompanying her dad during his worldwide tour. The tour included appearances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival in addition to making recordings together with George Harrison. In the end, The House of Commons Shield was awarded to her by the British Parliament as the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and youngest recipient of this prize.
